Infinity: A Crown of Golden Leaves by Catalina DuBois is a time-travel romance novel and one of eight books in the Infinity series. The premise of this series revolves around the idea that the Greek Goddess Eris has cursed Mathew and Sara to be star-crossed lovers through countless lifetimes. In A Crown of Golden Leaves, Matthaios, Mathew, is the handsome, sensitive son of Roman Emperor Titus and heir to the throne. Sara is a slave and the childhood companion of Matthaios. They are good friends who possess a burning desire to become lovers. Matthaios wants to resist these impulses; he is betrothed to another and does not want to misuse his power as an emperor’s son. Even though this is set in 79 AD, present-day attitudes and perceptions regarding women, age of consent, slavery, and sexual assault are crucial to the plot. Ensconced within this star-crossed love story are the backstories of Emperor Titus and Sara.
